Humorgous Smorgasbord

September, 2017

Flux Factory, NYC

The Flux Thursday event as part of Humorgous Smorgasbord featured a smorgasbord of traditional Scandinavian fare, 1950’s Betty Crocker recipe greats like the sandwich cake, and 15 lbs of herring from Zabar’s.

Curated by Sarah Dahlinger and Danny Crump, Humorgous Smorgasbord was one of Flux Factory’s 2017 Major Exhibitions. The exhibition was a contemporary snapshot of incongruity, from dark irony to sugary one-liners, engaging thoughtful and physical aspects of humor and laughter.

The exhibition is supported as one of Flux Factory’s 2017 Major Exhibitions, co-curated by artists in residence Sarah Dahlinger and Danny Crump. Additional sponsorship by Zabar’s, Lagunitas and in kind donations from Materials for the Arts. This event is funded in part by Poets & Writers with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
